September 2025 President’s Message

Dear IADT Family,

Global Dental & Oral Trauma Day is almost here!!! Scheduled annually on September 21, this day celebrates and recognizes the importance of dental and oral trauma and the impact it has on the lives of its victims and the professionals who diagnose and treat these injuries around the world. It also highlights the dental community’s critical role in managing dental trauma to avoid disfigurement and developmental problems and to restore esthetics and psychological well-being. Join us in celebrating this important day, share your activities with us on social media, and together, let’s continue to raise awareness and provide support to our communities and patients. You can find useful resources on our webpage  and on our various social media platforms. Don’t be shy! Be a part of this celebration and show the world what you are doing to support dental trauma prevention, patient education, and dental trauma treatment.

Although the news was recently announced via social media, a newsflash, and on the IADT website, I want to add my congratulations to the first and second place winners of the 2024 Tsukiboshi Award for Research in Dental Traumatology. The excellence and importance of these papers, authored by Dr. Simon Storgård Jensen (1st place) and and Haojie Yu (2nd place), cannot be emphasized enough.   You can read their award-winning papers by clicking the winners’ names above. We received many impressive applications, and the decision of our Research Committee was a most difficult one. The Tsukiboshi Award for Research in Dental Traumatology is given annually based on a competition. The award aims to encourage and recognize research excellence in the field of dental traumatology. So again, we offer our heartiest congratulations to these outstanding dental trauma researchers/authors.

Feel free to sign up to receive email alerts and updates on newly published papers from our flagship journal on the right-hand side of the journal’s homepage.
