How To Prevent Dental Injuries
- Wear a mouthguard for all contact sports, especially football, hockey, basketball, soccer, futbol, and martial arts.
- Make sure your mouthguard is not damaged or distorted. If so, replace.
- Be aware and cautious during your sports activities.
- Prominent teeth are particularly more likely to have damage and orthodontic treatment can reduce risk of dental trauma.
- Get a dental examination at least once per year and have your dentist review the quality of your mouthguard.
- Always wear a seatbelt when riding in a vehicle.
- Do not place foreign objects in your mouth.
