October 2025 President’s Message

Dear IADT Family,

Global Dental & Oral Trauma Day (GDOTD) was a tremendous success!!! Thank you all for your enthusiasm, involvement, and willingness to share the amazing ways you promoted dental trauma education around the globe. That education ranged from strategies for prevention and accurate diagnosis to selection of optimal treatment and appropriate follow-up. Our members participated in a wide variety of activities to recognize and celebrate this important day. September 21st is firmly established now as the day each year to emphasize the universal nature of dental and oral trauma and the impact it has on the lives of its victims and the professionals who diagnose and treat these injuries.

It was truly heartwarming to see so many of you joining in the recognition and celebration of GDOTD. The sharing of activities on social media was particularly noteworthy, raising awareness and providing support for our professional communities and for countless patients. Please take another look at our social media channels to explore the wide range of activities that were presented there. To all our members, let us keep the momentum going and continue our efforts to collaboratively support dental trauma prevention, patient education, and dental trauma treatment.

I want to extend special thanks to Katie Divine, whose boundless energy, never-ending creativity, and superb leadership created the perfect recipe for an extraordinarily successful celebration of GDOTD. I also want to recognize and thank Nitesh Tewari and the other members of the Social Media Committee for their efforts in making this special day an extraordinarily successful and informative global event.

In an exciting happening that you will not want to miss, next month our flagship journal, Dental Traumatology, will publish a special issue that features “Dental Trauma in Southeast Asia.” This special issue will present an important collection of papers from countries in Southeast Asia.

Speaking of Dental Traumatology, I encourage you to sign up to receive email alerts and updates on newly published papers in our flagship journal on the right-hand side of the journal’s homepage: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/16009657. This ensures that you will get automatic notifications on new papers published in the field of dental trauma.

Yours,

Liran Levin
