Jens Ove Andreasen Lifetime Achievement Award

The Jens Ove Andreasen Lifetime Achievement Award is the most prestigious IADT award and is bestowed to outstanding individuals who have shown dedication and leadership over the years to IADT.

Tsukiboshi Award for Research in Dental Traumatology

The Tsukiboshi Award for Research in Dental Traumatology will be awarded annually based on a competition that will be held by the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT). The award aims to encourage and recognize research excellence in the fields of Dental Traumatology.

The award will be presented by the IADT to the authors of the best paper submitted to the competition prior to the deadline.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 31, 2024

Details:

  • Only IADT members in good standing may enter (one paper submission per IADT member).
  • The IADT member must be the first or last author of the paper.
  • The paper must be published in the journal Dental Traumatology (Early View) between January 1st and December 31st of the same year of the competition (e.g., papers submitted for the 2023 award competition must be published between January 1st 2023 and December 31st 2023).
  • Cash prizes will be awarded for the best paper submitted for the competition during the calendar year as judged by the IADT research committee or judging panel.
  • Winning entries will be posted on the IADT website and in the IADT Newsletter.

Prizes:

  • First place prize winner will receive US $1000
  • Second place prize winner will receive US $500

 


 

Submission Format:

COVER PAGE: A cover page should include the title, submitting author name, affiliation, address and contact email.

JUSTIFICATION: A justification statement of no more than 250 words should introduce the paper and its importance to the field of Dental Traumatology.

PUBLISHED PAPER: The full text PDF of the submitted paper as appears on the Dental Traumatology website.

The award will be presented to the first or last author of the paper (must be an IADT member in good standing for the publication year).

JUDGING CRITERIA: An independent judging panel, using standardized assessment rubric, will evaluate the following:

  1. Originality
  2. Methodology
  3. Results quality and presentation
  4. Novelty
  5. Potential impact
  6. Overall quality/worthiness of the paper

 

Cash prizes will be awarded based on the above assessment criteria. If the judges agree that no paper is of sufficient quality to be awarded a prize, the IADT reserves the right not to award a prize for the calendar year.
