November 2025 President’s Message

Dear IADT Family,

The IADT Executive Committee and full Board have meetings scheduled for this month to continue discussions and finalize plans for our association. These leadership groups, along with multiple committees, are working hard behind the scenes to continue enhancing the activities and support the IADT provides around the globe for educational institutions, general and specialty dental organizations, individual clinicians, and the lay public. These efforts are focused on finding creative ways to further promote dental trauma education, prevention, and treatment in both a controlled professional environment and in trauma situations outside the professional office.

This month, the IADT’s official journal, Dental Traumatology, will publish a special online issue that features “Dental Trauma in Southeast Asia”. It will present an important collection of papers from countries in Southeast Asia. The issue was developed and led by Drs. Rodrigo Marino and Anand Marya, who worked closely and diligently with your editor-in-chief on this interesting and informative compendium of papers. I would like to extend my deep appreciation for their work to support our journal.

While on the subject of Dental Traumatology, I encourage you to sign up to receive email alerts and updates on newly published papers in our flagship journal. You can do that by entering your email address in the box on the right-hand side of the journal’s homepage. This ensures that you will receive automatic notifications for new papers published in the field of dental trauma.

Preparations for the 23rd World Congress on Dental Traumatology (WCDT2026), which will take place in Warsaw, Poland, September 3-5, 2026, are ramping up. Make sure to start planning now to attend. The WCDT2026 website will soon be up and running. It will enable you to explore the robust program that will offer the latest traumatology research, relevant clinical information, effective educational methodologies, and great social experiences. The world’s leading experts in all areas of dental traumatology will provide formal presentations and be available for individual discussion and consultation. We look forward with great excitement to seeing you in Warsaw, one of Europe’s great capitals, for a scintillating scientific and social program.

The IADT’s Honors and Awards Committee, under the strong leadership of Alex Moule (Australia), a past president of the IADT, is working assiduously to update the entire area of recognizing members of our association who have made highly significant contributions to the field of dental traumatology and to the advancement and accomplishment of the goals of our association. The Board recently approved a lengthy standard operating procedures document that provides wide-ranging, detailed, and clear guidance for the entire area of honors and awards. In addition, work is in progress for the development of new honors and awards that will identify and recognize members for extraordinary service in and out of our association and for those who have created beneficial change locally, regionally, or internationally to improve the quality of life for countless victims of dental trauma.

Finally, be sure to follow us on social media for more updates and breaking news in the field of dental traumatology.
