The Global Dental and Oral Trauma Day was launched by the International Association of Dental Traumatology on 21st September 2024. The date marks the official formation of the IADT and adoption of the document known as the Stockholm Manifesto on Accident Prevention that states “all human beings have equal right to health and safety”. That document formed the basis for the IADT’s goal of bringing together international health care providers with an interest in dental traumatology.

The Global Dental and Oral Trauma Day has been recognized and supported by several dental traumatology and other dental specialty associations across the world. The fraternity aims to celebrate this day with awareness and education activities for recognizing the impact dental and oral trauma on our lives, the dental community’s role in managing dental trauma, and the support of the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT). This day also has received proclamation from two states of the United States of America.
