Dear IADT Family,
The 23rd World Congress on Dental Traumatology (WCDT2026) is finally here!!! The excitement is in the air, and we are thrilled to see many of you here in Warsaw!
Tomorrow, the IADT board will hold a full-day meeting to discuss and brainstorm various aspects of the association’s future. We will be meeting with representatives of other associations, including the American Association of Endodontists and the Academy for Sports Dentistry, to strengthen our collaboration efforts and create meaningful plans for the future.
I am thrilled to report that the Boards of Directors of both the IADT and The Dental Trauma Guide (Copenhagen) officially approved the reports from the task force that developed the most comprehensive and clearly defined classification of tooth resorption ever created. The joint committee, under the able leadership of Professor Paul Abbott, is now working on the final steps to publish these landmark papers in our flagship journal, Dental Traumatology. Stay tuned!
It is now time to finalize your plans for the “Global Dental and Oral Trauma Day (GDOTD),” a special day set aside annually on September 21st to recognize, promote, and encourage the prevention and proper management of traumatic dental and oral injuries worldwide. Please join us once again and invite your colleagues, patients, and communities to help promote and celebrate this special day. I encourage you to share your experiences and thoughts with us on social media. You will find many exciting features related to this special day on our website and on our social media pages.
Finally, we will be sending out information very soon about the opportunity to vote for IADT Directors for the 2027-2028 term. Those elected as Directors, along with the officers elected at the board meeting in Warsaw, will shape the future of our association. I strongly encourage you to exercise your right to participate in this voting opportunity, which will determine our leadership for the new term.
