Dear IADT Family,
The IADT is starting a new and exciting year. Our board of directors had its first meeting just a few days ago. It was great to see both new and returning faces of eager and dedicated officers and Directors who will lead our exceptional association over the next two years. The board started working on staffing the committees for the next two years and initiated or continued planning for multiple interesting and exciting projects for the next term.
Although most committee chairs have identified members to serve on their committees, it is never too late for you to let us know if you are interested in actively contributing to the work of the IADT. Working with like-minded professional colleagues is very fulfilling and helps our association carry out its mission of education and service. You can email our secretary, Fabricio Teixeira, at fabricio-teixeira@uiowa.edu or notify Emily Santelices at emily@res-inc.com to express your interest in serving on a committee. The list of IADT committees and their duties can be found on the IADT website.
I look forward to seeing many of you in Brazil for the IADT’s South American regional meeting in May 2025, and then in Warsaw, Poland, in September 2026, for the 23rd World Congress on Dental Traumatology (WCDT 2026). Together we will celebrate our passion for and enhance our knowledge in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dental traumatic injuries.
Continuing a highly popular member benefit initiated last term, we are readying new and exciting IADTube lectures for your viewing. These lectures provide a virtual cornucopia of valuable information on a wide variety of dental traumatology topics. So, sit back, listen, enjoy and learn. The first lecture for 2025 will be posted in two weeks and is provided by our President-Elect, Michał Sobczak (Warsaw, Poland).
The competition for the Tsukiboshi Award for Research in Dental Traumatology for papers published in 2024 is now open. This prestigious award aims to encourage and recognize research excellence in the field of Dental Traumatology. Please see our website for more details on the award criteria and make sure to submit your application prior to the February 28, 2025 deadline.
Please remember to renew your membership in the IADT for 2025, if you have not done so yet. While renewing your membership, feel free to use the donation button on our website as well!
Make sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to get updates and more news from the IADT.
Yours,
