Dear IADT Family,
We are only two months away from the IADT’s event of the year, the 23rd World Congress on Dental Traumatology (WCDT2026), in Warsaw, Poland (September 3-5, 2026). Registration numbers continue to climb rapidly, so if you have delayed registering or are still debating whether to attend, do not wait to secure your spot! Do not miss this exceptional congress and with it the opportunity to gain fresh knowledge in dental traumatology and to validate or dispel your current practices in the diagnosis and treatment of dental trauma. The superb scientific program is professionally elevating, and the carefully planned social events are designed to please and are not to be missed. I look forward to seeing you there!
It is with great pleasure that I report that the new impact factor ranking of IADT’s flagship journal, Dental Traumatology, attained its highest score ever. Our journal achieved a record-breaking impact factor of 4.8 (!). Dental Traumatology not only kept its ranking in the top quartile (Q1) of the “DENTISTRY, ORAL SURGERY & MEDICINE” category, but moved from a rank of 30 of 163 to a much higher 15 of 165 journals (91.2 impact factor percentile) in the category! Our journal is now in the top 10 percent of journals and now ranked above many well-known and prestigious scientific journals in the field. Congratulations to all of you on a great result. This is an incredible achievement and a great testament to the high quality and importance of our journal in the dental and allied professions. This would not have been possible without the constant support and the tireless work of our associate editors, editorial board members, reviewers, and authors. I thank all of you for the IADT’s unwavering support and for your past and continuing efforts to improve the quality of the journal. Thank you for your trust in me as your Editor-in-Chief.
Last month, I was privileged to present a topic that is near and dear to me at the annual meeting of the Academy for Sports Dentistry (ASD). During the last few years, together with an amazing group of students and collaborators, I was fortunate to work on how dental professionals can identify, treat, and then support domestic abuse victims and survivors. As healthcare providers, we can make a critical difference and even save lives! This focus on abuse and its victims will continue at the 23rd World Congress on Dental Traumatology in Warsaw, Poland. The collaboration between the IADT and the ASD is strengthening both associations and contributing to the health and well-being of our patients and communities.
