June 2026 President’s Message

Dear IADT Family,

Preparations for our highlight event of the year, the 23rd World Congress on Dental Traumatology (WCDT2026), in Warsaw, Poland, September 3-5, 2026, are reaching a fever pitch. Everyone is excited about this extraordinary event. Registration numbers are very encouraging. If you have not registered yet, please do not wait. Register today! This is an exceptional congress and an extraordinary opportunity to learn from a superb scientific program and enjoy great social events. I look forward to seeing you there!

I am thrilled to announce the winners of the 2025 research and case report competitions. The First Place winner for the Tsukiboshi Research Award is Alina Wikstrom for her paper “Microbial Loads in Traumatized Immature Teeth and Their Impact on the Treatment Outcomes of Regenerative Endodontic Treatment: A Randomized Clinical Trial Comparing Chlorhexidine and Calcium Hydroxide.” The Second Place award goes to Nitesh Tewari for his paper entitled “Evidence Mapping and Quality Assessment of Randomized Controlled Trials in Dental Traumatology.” For the 2025 Case Competition Award, the winners are First Place, Prachworrakit Kaewsirirat, for his report entitled “Multidisciplinary Management of Severe Intrusive Luxation in a Mixed Dentition: A 5-year Follow-up on Continued Root Maturation and Comprehensive Orthodontic Telemedicine-Assisted Monitoring.” The Second Place award goes to Mile Churlinov for his case report entitled “Intentional Replantation for Late Surgical Repositioning of Horizontally Root-Fractured Maxillary Central Incisors: A Case Report.” Heartiest congratulations to all award winners. I also want to extend very special thanks to the Research Committee, chaired by Fabricio Teixeira, for all the hard work and difficult decision-making that was required to select the winning papers. This year, the competition was fierce with many high-quality papers submitted for consideration.

We are getting closer to the time for the election of Directors to serve on the IADT Board for the 2027-2028 term. Serving as a Director allows you to have a direct and strong influence over our organization’s mission, setting and achieving objectives, and helping shape solutions to global community challenges. If you are willing to serve in this capacity and aspire to join an amazing group of like-minded individuals with shared interest in and passion for dental traumatology, please consider nominating yourself for this vital role in the IADT. Detailed information on the nominating process will be provided later this year as we approach the Directors’ nominating period.

Remember to renew your IADT membership for 2026.
