Dear IADT Family,
The IADT continues to move forward with many exciting projects and initiatives for the near future and beyond. They are designed to better serve our members to provide the very best management of dental and oral trauma for the benefit of the millions of dental trauma patients worldwide.
In early April I had the privilege, along with several members of the IADT board, to participate in an International Forum organized by the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) during its Annual Meeting in Boston (USA). At the Forum, we met with the executive team of the AAE as well as executives from other leading international dental organizations. I reported on the many exciting things that are happening with the IADT and discussed potential future collaborations between the AAE and the IADT. As in previous years, the discussion was collegial and positive. We look forward to another year of fruitful collaboration for the benefit of our patients and the international professional communities.
I am excited about the IADT’s upcoming South American Regional Meeting in Brazil. The registration numbers and abstract submissions reflect strong and widespread interest among clinicians, researchers, and students. These dental professionals want to secure their place in an unforgettable event that will provide insightful and cutting-edge presentations on a wide variety of dental traumatology topics. In addition, special social events are included in the meeting schedule. The conference will be held in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil on May 22-23, 2025. I cannot wait to see many of you there.
The IADT board had its April meeting to discuss issues important for you, our members, and the future of the association. The board is working hard to improve communication, expand member benefits, and enhance the well-being of our patients.
As we move forward, make sure you begin to plan your activities for Global Dental & Oral Trauma Day. This special day, observed annually, is scheduled for September 21. This is a day to celebrate and recognize the significant impact dental and oral trauma has on the lives of both its victims and the professionals who diagnose and treat these victims worldwide. It also highlights the dental community’s role in managing dental trauma and the standout role that IADT plays in the field. Stay tuned as our steering team, led by Dr. Katie Divine, is working on plans to expand and promote the many ways to celebrate this important day this year and in the future.
Thank you all for being members of the IADT and supporting our amazing association. Your dedication goes a long way toward improving the lives of dental trauma victims around the world.
